On March 12, a delegation from électricité de France (EDF) visited Guangzhou Zhiguang Electric Co., Ltd. (Zhiguang Electric). The delegation included Mr. Régis Clément, General Manager of DTEAM at EDF Headquarters; Mr. Jean Jacques, Deputy General Manager of the Strategy and Development Center; Mr. Vincent Roulet, General Manager of the Thermal Power and Transmission & Distribution Engineering Center; Ms. Chen Jiajia, General Manager of Business Development for China; and Ms. Caroline Muller, Deputy General Manager of Business Development for China. The delegation was warmly received by Mr. Cao Chengfeng, Vice President of Zhiguang Electric, together with other company executives. During the visit, both sides held in-depth discussions on energy storage system and product development, investment cooperation in energy storage power plants, and the transformation of the French renewable energy market, exploring potential avenues for collaboration and shared growth.

During the visit, the delegation toured Zhiguang’s Yonghe New Energy Storage Industrial Park and the Qingyuan Baimiao Energy Storage Power Station, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the company’s technological R&D capabilities, project implementation, and operational performance in the energy storage sector. The visitors expressed strong appreciation for Zhiguang Electric’s technical expertise and proven project delivery.

At the meeting, Mr. Cao Chengfeng provided an overview of Zhiguang Electric’s development history and core business portfolio. Both sides also reviewed EDF’s development in China, particularly its long-standing contributions to the country’s energy sector through nuclear power projects, which laid a solid foundation for further cooperation.

Focusing on key areas of collaboration, the two parties reached several important consensuses. Zhiguang Electric presented its latest innovations and application cases in advanced technologies such as cascaded high-voltage energy storage and grid-forming energy storage. EDF shared insights into its global energy storage deployment, nuclear power technology strengths, and strategic roadmap for renewable energy transition. Both sides agreed to deepen cooperation in areas including joint R&D of energy storage systems, customized product development, and investment and operation of energy storage power plants. They will also jointly explore opportunities arising from France’s renewable energy transition and promote the implementation of collaborative projects in the new energy sector.

The EDF delegation noted that the visit marks an important starting point for building a long-term and stable partnership with Zhiguang Electric and expressed interest in jointly exploring opportunities in both the Chinese and French new energy markets.

This exchange represents an important step for Zhiguang Electric in expanding international cooperation and strengthening its global energy storage footprint. Looking ahead, the company will continue to enhance technological innovation and improve the competitiveness of its products and services, working together with international partners to advance the global energy transition.
